The European PVC industry today released its latest annual Vinyl 2010 Progress Report at PVC 2008, Brighton. The report confirms that the European PVC industry is well on the way to meeting the targets set out in the Vinyl 2010 Voluntary Commitment for Sustainable Development.

The Judging Panel of the Vinyl 2010 Essay Competition led by Belgian sustainable development expert Nadine Gouzée was extremely impressed by the quality and creativity of the entries received.
All essays must be written in British or American English.
The essay must be typed on an A4 page format, left and right margins set at 3 cm each, 11-size Arial font. Handwritten essays or essays presented in any other way will be disqualified.
The essay must be submitted as a Word document.
All essays must respond to the title: “Are sustainable development and economic growth mutually exclusive?”
The essay must have two parts: a summary of up to 300 words and the main essay text of up to 1,000 words. The word count includes articles and quotations.
Entrants should not put their name on the essay. Names should feature only on the entry form. Vinyl 2010 will attribute a number to each entry to maintain anonymity during judging.
All entries must be received no later than 31 December 2007, by 23:59 Brussels-time (GMT +1) to be eligible for the contest.
